What kind of a traveling person would I be, if I didn’t have suitcases or backpacks. Well, fortunately, I do not have to discover that. Unless my checked luggage will hang in the air (I keep my heart on hold, and hope it will never happen). The point is, I need luggage and admire those backpackers to travel only with a backpack. However, after a friendly contact with a Bagageonline.nl employee, we decided that we could put together a nice collaboration. A review of yes indeed, no suitcase: but a backpack. More specifically, a Herschel backpack. Do you want to know if you can go travel with it? Or if you could do a whole trip with it? What about quality? You are reading it here.
Herschel is worldwide a popular brand and broke through a number of years ago. Since then, there are a lot of different colors available, as well as patterns and dimensions. They have that typical look of straps with buckles, making you know immediately it’s a Herschel. I could hardly resist temptation, so I chose the Herschel Little America Mid Volume Backpack. Again, with this variant, you had a lot of choices. But I chose the freedom itself: with birds. The true name for the color is Peacoat Parlor / Tan Synth.
The quality of the Herschel Little America Mid Volume is particularly good. The pattern I have chosen and said before, namely Peacoat Parlor / Tan Synth leather comes true and isn’t blurred (what you sometimes have with polyester-printed patterns). It feels firm and could undoubtedly bear a blow. Even though I don’t know what would happen if rain was pouring down the sky. Okay, my backpack will survive it on its own, but I don’t really want to think about what will happen to my possessions.
The backpack is spacious enough. There is a large main compartment, in which there is a laptop compartment where my MacBook 13″ can stay in. Besides this, you can really do a lot of stuff in that compartment. On the sides of the backpack, inside, you also have two more compartments where you could for example, put a bottle or your smartphone. Roughly said, there can be 16.5 liters in the backpack, and the fun part is that you have a front pocket with a key holder. So, done with the lost keys in your backpack, no matter how large or small it is.
By nature, I have always had my preference for four-wheeled suitcases. Good for your back, and great for your overall look. But if you are a frequent traveler who sometimes dares to arrive late at night (or even in the morning) at your destination, then I probably don’t have to explain how embarrassing it may be. Yes, that sound of those wheels: they have to do something about it. I, who has always the sleeping people in mind, finally decided to take a backpack. Not only because it is convenient for day trips, but also because it is not a real disaster if you need to get on stairs. However, it is quite clear that backpacks are usually bad for your back unless you have a good that isn’t too heavy.
My backpack has a stiff back panel and padded shoulder straps on the back. The only thing I miss on this backpack is that it can attach to your waist. That would be even better for your back, since you have a support.
I’m in love with this brand and at the store where I’ve taken this backpack off. The Herschel is great for day trips, as well as longer trips (as hand luggage). Whether I really bring a backpack on every travel in the future, it’s still unprecedented for someone who has such an addiction to travel suitcases. But in any case, I’m so pleased with this item. In addition, I wanted to say that the store, Bagageonline.nl, has an excellent customer service. And also nice to know: ordered before 10pm, is the next day brought to your home!
