Where the night falls in Vienna, I’m here. In my room where I’m writing my introduction for the review of the brand new Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof. A hotel in the middle of the capital of Austria. Next to the main station, but where you don’ have that irritating noise from the trains, subways, trams and buses.
I will stay here two nights, and a total of three days. Have I been happy with the hotel so far? I will already give you a hint: yes. Even though I had just an unpleasant experience at The Flave (the hotel’s restaurant). This one incident is incompatible with the service of the restaurant when I first ate there and the overall experience of the hotel. I will review The Flave restaurant another time, but here you have an extensive review of the Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof. The hotel that stole my heart due to its hospitality, luxurious but with that young side. As well as the space and above all the atmosphere that rests here.
The Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof is located in the heart of Vienna, right next to the main station, with trains, subways, trams and buses. As a result, you immediately feel that you can dive deeper into the city by simply using one of the transport options. Even though you are next to the station, you won’t be bothered with irritating sounds. The hotel is therefore built in a quiet street, on the side of the Vienna Hauptbahnhof. This is one of the reasons I found the hotel to be well located.
This provides an excellent starting point for everything you want to see in Vienna. It’s about 200 meters to the station, 500 meters to a stop of a Hop On Hop Off-bus if you want to do this and 20 kilometers to Vienna Airport, which you can reach in a quarter.
What a lovely bed, I thought when I was laying down in it. It was expected, since it was a LIVE’N’DREAM bed, a bed with bedding that fully fits your wishes and has Smart Pillows. Sounds good, right? There were four pillows on the bed, two per person. What was more than any other hotel to be honest.
Hygiene is for me, as you know, personally, the most important thing in a hotel room. Not the space, the colors, the minibar or the light, but the hygiene. And I have nothing to notice about this. It was exceptionally neat. Not only in the room, but also throughout the hotel. Also a big plus for me was that the hotel thought of the environment while they really did everything to increase hygiene to a higher level. Particularly, however, I did not expect anything else from Novotel, part of ACCOR Hotels.
It’s theoretically speaking hygiene; the shampoo, the conditioner, and all the hygiene products. What I found very nice and a fun addition to the hotel is that most products are Fair Trade.
Novotel offered me an Executive Room, a higher class than the Standard Rooms. Even though I can not say how Standard Rooms looked like, I can say again how big and how well decorated the Executives are. My TV was bigger than a standard television, I had a nice view from Novotel’s eighteenth floor of Vienna, the bathroom was larger than an average and had different departments with divisions, etc.
The room had a lot of mirrors, which meant that the room looked larger. The safe was hidden in a closet as well as the minibar. This meant that there was actually much more room for other things. Such as the desk, a sofa with table, a big bed, etc.
I wrote a separate blog post about The Flave Restaurant. This being because it was just a lot to summarize into one blog post. I went to dine twice in The Flave, with two different experiences. In order to give a fair review and to clarify my arguments, I therefore decide to describe the two experiences in one blog post. Either way, you can expect this review later, but of course there was also a breakfast. This breakfast was simply excellent. There was plenty of choice of fresh fruit, fresh juices and drinks, hot meals, pastries, typical Austrian breakfast, and cold meals. Overall, a lot of food to choose from.
I found that the kitchen staff was very friendly. The one employee was more friendly than the other, but you always have this with employees of everything in the hospital.
Here I just had to give a lot of points. The service I received at the Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof was almost unique. I was served immediately and got everything I needed for my perstrip in Vienna. In addition, I received one of the highest rooms with fresh fruit and truffles in a bowl and a lot of information about Vienna and the hotel. Whenever I had a question, I could ask them and they answered very professionally and neat. So far, this was one of the best services I received from a hotel.
Although it was a shame when I couldn’t really explain my unpleasant experience to the night receptionist at 4:00 am in the morning. This was the only bad experience of the hotel’s reception.
You have already read it in the introduction; The Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof has stolen my heart. There were downsides, indeed, but the service made it all right again. I’m definitely going to get there, when I’ll meet my friend in Vienna again and want to discover the city for a longer period.
What do you think about this hotel, after reading my review?
